Ailes molded Fox News into a force that irrevocably changed the conversation about the highest levels of government.
We wanted to make sure that people who weren't familiar with the Ailes' story understood his ties to Fox News and broadcast domination. We also focused on the Big Brother Is Watching angle as well as keeping him as omnibus and looming as possible.
We were lucky enough to shoot with Russell Crowe on set and get a real sense of his character and tone.
We did a month-long NYC subway takeover on the digital triptych and diptych screens with two different pieces of creative. One related closely to the key art, while the other used clips from the show. The creative featured 3D, 2D and shoot elements.
We explored several different directions, all of which used Ailes’ image as the primary visual along with glitch-y, television-based design language. We also made sure to include the colors of the American Flag and nods to the news.
We explored fonts that felt news and television related.
