We wanted to integrate previously shot green screen footage of the cast with NYC. Since we’d used the footage in a season 3 campaign, we wanted to make sure that the graphic treatment and animation felt fresh. Since the theme of this season was about power struggle and positions of power shifting, we felt like the best way to reinforce that would be to have a constantly shifting horizon and frame. The graphic nature of the city and footage kept the compositions consistent and severe.
We explored everything from golden snakes to abstract stock markets to the art of katuski. Ultimately, we found our way back to NYC and using the buildings as a way to help tell the narrative.
