We partnered up with the state of California to expand on our LAvsHate campaign and partner with them on their state-wide United Against Hate Week initiative.

We created a branding that promoted bridging communities by using bright colors, overlapping letterforms, and emphasizing the word unity. We wanted it to feel inviting and be easily adaptable to Spanish as well.

The branding was utilized on multiple assets throughout the United Against Hate Week including posters, tote bags, t-shirts, metro billboards, bus shelters, lawn signs, buttons, stickers, and digital kiosks around Los Angeles County.

We landed on this iteration of the design after playing with several forms of lettering that included symbols of flowers, clasping hands, and even faces of people, but ultimately decided that handmade letterforms conveyed a sense of personal connection and that each community would be able to find themselves within the artwork without overt symbolism.
